Background
Momentum Corporate Finance LLP was formed in 2005 by partners, Tony Kenny and Rob Crews. Both were previously senior corporate financiers with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Momentum acts for entrepreneurial businesses, to structure and project-manage management buy-outs, management buy-ins, business sales, and acquisitions in the mid-market range.
The firm instructed Implementor to help define the name and corporate identity, as well as to create a website.
Corporate identity
Nicola reviewed the firm's competitors and helped the founders more closely identify its target markets, together with its positioning statements. From this she suggested a number of company names, checking each for trade mark clearance.
Momentum Corporate Finance was chosen to express both the dynamic, personal involvement of the partners, as well as the forward motion the funding they generate inevitably produces for the target company concerned.
Nicola translated the positioning statements into a design brief, appointed designers and worked with them to produce the final corporate identity. This was then implemented across a full range of stationery and promotional items.
Website
Momentum wanted a simple website to act as an initial point of information for clients and non-clients. Nicola reviewed competitors' sites, made recommendations regarding functionality and devised a web brief. She then created the site, working with an external developer, including writing all the copy, sourcing appropriate images, and obtaining quotes. The text sought to highlight the resons for using a niche specialist in this area of corporate finance, rather than one of the larger accountancy firms.
Since its launch in February 2005, Momentum has exceeded the partners' most optimistic forecasts regarding the volume and value of work generated. |
