Strategy
Launched originally in 1999, the design of www.osborneclarke.com followed the corporate identity used in the firm's brochure at the time.
Nicola Webb was the firm's marketing director at the time and responsible for the firm's websites from 1998 to 2003, when she left but continued to work on the launch of the latest site as an external consultant.
As the site developed, the firm launched various password controlled ‘portals' or sub-sites, which were targeted at key clients, intermediaries and prospects. These included the firm's recruitment site, Corporate Law Portal, People Law and Health & Safety Watch.
In addition, we created two separately branded sites aimed at niche audiences - www.marketinglaw.co.uk aimed at agencies and brand-owners, and www.gamesbiz.net aimed at games developers and publishers (note: the current gamesbiz site is not the one originally launched).
Results
The main site was revamped in 2001and Nicola was involved in the restructure, redesign and rewrite of the site in late 2004. In its 2001 form, it regularly featured in Legal Technology Insider magazine's "Top ten busiest legal websites in the UK", was judged by the Legal Research Group as the 6th leading UK law firm website in 2001, and was winner of a regional business award for “best large commercial site” in 2002.
In addition, Osborne Clarke was named as “UK law firm of the year” by the European Technology Forum in 2002 and also short listed in the 2002 and 2003 LOTIE (legal office technology) awards.

"Well designed… very comprehensive content… great artwork and quirky copy which puts some new media specialists to shame… performance was consistently good and navigation is easy, considering the depth and variety of content": Western Daily Press Web Awards 2001: "Best large commercial site"
