Background
Wards Solicitors have been in business since 1905 and have eleven offices throughout Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The firm provides both businesses and individuals with a full range of legal services and strives to be the leading private client firm in its geographic area.
Nicola was appointed as Wards' head of marketing in January 2004, acting on an ongoing consultancy retainer basis and supervising the in-house marketing executive.
Strategy
At the outset, she reviewed and revised the firm's strategy across all areas, including conveyancing, commercial, personal injury, disputes, property, Wills & trusts, and divorce law. This led to a new marketing plan for all areas, which she and the marketing executive are implementing.
Website
Nicola reviewed competitors' sites and, working with an external developer, she created a new website, with increased functionality and information. This included writing all the copy for the site. Since its relaunch in September 2004, the number of work enquiries received from the site have tripled.
Literature
Together with an external designer, Nicola created a new corporate style for the company (which was rolled out over stationery and signage) and produced all new literature, including service brochures, newsletters and direct mail flyers. This included copywriting and sourcing images for all literature.
CRM
Nicola is currently improving the firm's marketing database and is implementing a client relationship management programme for its key clients and referrers.
